Prof. Damiano Rondelli completed his training in Hematology at the University of Bologna, Italy, where he started his career. In 2002 he joined the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where he is currently the Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology and Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program. Has extensive experience in clinical research in blood cancers and sickle cell anemia. He authored 140 peer-reviewed articles and multiple book chapters. Within the UIC Center of Global Health he leads a GlobalBMT initiative currently working in Nepal, India, Nigeria and Cuba.
