Confindustria has been the Sustainable Economy Forum’s strategic partner since the first edition in 2018. Confindustria’s presence underlines the commitment to strengthening the dialogue between national and international social actors. It also testifies the entrepreneurial system’s strategic role in achieving the objectives of environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
Confindustria strongly believes in The Sustainable Economy Forum project because Italian and European industry must aim for a world rebirth based on a modern idea of development, achieving important objectives through the key principles of sustainability and social responsibility: increasing productivity, promoting growth, fighting poverty and inequality. These are the foundations to build a new international economic agenda.
While the debates focus on crucial issues such as health, social finance, digital transformation, innovation, environment and development, the collaboration with San Patrignano seeks to give substance to ideas, transforming them into concrete alliances and projects. An example is the Memorandum which was born in this context to support Italian and African companies in the development of sustainable and inclusive growth. It was signed together with San Patrignano, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and E4Impact Foundation during the Forum’s 2019 edition and the private partnership for co-development that launched the project “Together for Africa” to create collaboration and mentoring between companies.
Our vision, social responsibility and sustainable economy must become a new economic paradigm, an antidote to social disintegration, a further piece of business culture and an impulse towards a different business model. Our lighthouse is the Manifesto for social responsibility for industry 4.0, which testifies Italian companies’ strong commitment to have a sustainable business practice, by paying even greater attention to their workers, the environment and the society as a whole.
